<p>Hey guys! I this is my first post ever on this site. While reading through the posts on these forums, my hopes of being accepted into a lot of colleges on my list went straight down the drain. I am a junior in high school with a 2.5 GPA (i didn't take my freshman year seriously at all).... I take my ACTs in less than a month and i know for a fact i can get a 30. My first report card this year i got 4 As and 2 Bs, and my second report card i got 3 As and 3 Bs. Throughout the rest of this year i can maintain a 3.5 GPA. I haven't taken any AP or honors classes so far, but i know i am taking AP English senior year. I am in an internship program for my school, which prepares me for Bio Medical Engineering and Electricity. The problem with this is that i don't really want to pursue a career in engineering or electricity. I really want to Major in biology in college and go to med school afterward. I can get about 40 hours of comm service this summer as well. My question is, if i keep up my grades this year and score high on my ACT, will it be possible to get accepted into my list of colleges? </p>

<p>List: Arizona State U, Central Mich U, Kansas State U, Michigan State U, Ohio State U, Purdue U, U of Iowa, Univ. of Minn, UIUC, Northern Ill U, Western Ill U, Southern Ill U.</p>

<p>Well if you take your studies seriously and concentrate on grades you can probably get into most of them. The question is why? Why go to a public U out of state when there are good schools in-state? It’s a similar education and less expensive.</p>

<p>Well, money isn’t really that big of a problem. I just love the big populations and greek life of most of those schools. I know that big ten schools are really accredited and they will also have a lot to offer socially and academically. Plus, i love the atmosphere of all of those colleges, and i am really into college sports. So i think i would fit in with a lot of those colleges on my list. Of course I would pick WIU if the finances are way lower than Purdue U, but i would love to have options. Thanks for the reply Erin’s Dad!</p>
