Is it realistic to transfer into an Ivy league or top private from....

UCR? I know that with a 4.0 and great EC's I might have a shot, but what worries me is my SAT's, I didnt really care much about them because I knew they would not help me that much anyways. So my score was a 1250, is that too low? Should I take it again? Does anyone have any other advice? Thanks for your input....

man..so many ucr transfer's here. it's saddening for the campus. I know how it is after being here for two years - riverside just doesn't cut it. ;) but oh well! good luck, I'm not sure on your answer though by the way, are you planning sophomore transfer or junior?

Your SAT's typically dont matter if you do junior.

a friend of mine got into upenn with a 1270, but her rank and hs gpa was top-notch. also, her college gpa was close to 4.0 and she was a junior transfer from a college you've probably never even heard of.

anything is possible :]

Yea, I plan on attempting to transfer as a junior. As to what you said about UCR, I believe you are right in that it does not cut it. I really do not have anything against UCR, and chose to go here over another school. My thought process in making that decision was interesting though, I intentionally put myself there to make sure that I would not be satisfied and would work my but off to go the school of my choice. I knew that if I became content then I would revert back to my old lazy ways. Orginally I wanted to just transfer to UCLA, as growing up it was instilled in me that LA was the best I could ever hope to do. I was never encouraged to go to any school I ever wanted even though now I know I have the capability. Now I refuse to give up on that, If I do not gain admission to one of the ivies or stanford through transfer, then I will do my best again for grad school.

forgiven- thanks for sharing, that information is really encouraging, I know I have alot of work ahead of me. Thanks again.

bump, anyone else have any input?

I've been to UCR and you see all these people with school pride wearing their sweatshirts and whatnot, but when I come here so many people want out.

Is it just the reputation or does UCR really not make its students feel comfortable?

combination of the two.. also i would retake the SAT's if u want in the top privates.

ucr should be an official uc/community college hybrid with all the transfer programs.

haha yeeeppppp

retake the SAT's and take two SAT 2 subject tests(stanford RECOMMENDS these).

btw- what's your major?

political science...
