I'm wondering if any of you guys ever feel bad about the music you listen to.
Like, I happened to love the song "Promiscuous" by nelly furtado--but of course most of my friends are like, that song is soooo sleezy...it's so nasty..

But I can't help it! I love the music and I happen to like Nelly Furtado. Except I don't think my parents would really appreciate some of those lyrics, lol

And what it comes to Timbaland songs (or any club-type joint for that matter), the beat/production takes precedence over the lyrics anyways. Tell your friends to be less prudish. And parents will be parents. There was a time when their parents thought Elvis was sleazy (which he kind of was, haha).

Some of the lyrical content of 'my' songs is really inappropriate. In fact, my mom once found an inappropriate song from 'her time' in my iTunes.... and told me that she was going to sneak onto my computer and delete it. I think it was 'Gigantic-' but that song's still on my computer, so I could be wrong. Or it could have been 'And She Was,' but THAT song never was deleted, either. Actually, it could have been many, many songs =D

If you don't act on those song's messages, I don't think they are so bad. I'm Christian, and if your rule applied, I should be shunned from heaven and church since I listen to '90s grunge.

I don't listen to as many "dirty" songs. They're not really my style, and the ones I do listen to have a lot of screaming that don't really constitute as lyrics.

It's really sad though, because a younger sibling is really into hip-hop and likes to sing "Ridin' Dirty". I don't think he knows the meanings of the lyrics.

I agree. I think the lyrics of most of my music = crap, but it doesn't really matter to anyone except for my mother. Although I do like the grunge vibe a lot.
