Is it really that bad?

I've heard horrible things about this school. I heard all of this crap after I gave in everything so I'm heading there this year. I just wanted to know is it really that bad? Is it easy to transfer from Drexel to a liberal arts school or something? Like Franklin & Marshall? Not saying that I'm going to transfer, but simply that if I don't like it I want my options to be open.

There are people on this site who love to insult Drexel. Every college has its strengths and weaknesses. Drexel is good for people majoring in area such as engineering, CS, IT etc. It would not be a good place for an English major. The COOP program is good way to get work experience.

The campus is not bucolic, but instead a part of the city. If you like city life, you are in the right place. The area is not unsafe, as some people said. However, if you go into the wrong areas at night, you may be in trouble.

Well that's nice to hear. But I was thinking of transferring to another school after the first year as Drexel might be a little to much on my budget. I thought that with the Co-op it would be more affordable which it is, but I'll still end up spending quite a bit. So could I transfer to a liberal arts college like Reed or F&M? I've read people say they hate the school but they can't transfer due to Drexel's quarter system which is not accepted by other schools.

well, then you will end of wasting one year because credits dont transfer as easily as other universities. And even if you are lucky to have credits transfer, they go on a 2/3 basis, so 3 credits from Drexel = 2 credits at a traditional semester school. Since most other colleges Gen Ed requirements specifies 3 credits in a certain area, you would have to retake certain classes when you get to that new school. Then you are gonna be wasting more money then you wanted ;). The best thing to do is to go to a CC, and take gen ed requirements from Reed or F&M, as they will transfer on a 1:1 basis.
