is it really that hard to have a social life in manzanita?

how exactly does it work? are there "houses" of around 50 students? so you get to know those, but not as many people as if you were living with halls?

It is really not hard at all. I have a huge group of friends in Manzanita. The stigma is false that Manzanita has no social atmosphere. Although I’m pretty sure FT is crazier (in a fun way) but Manzanita village has its perks for being quiet (in some houses). Trust me, if you get Manzanita you are not missing out on anything.

There is about 35-50 people in each house, but I know many people in other houses as well.

Like I said in another thread, having a social life is much more dependent on you personally than where you live.

every year the dorms have a new group of freshman students my friend. it all depends on who lives in the dorms, not the building itself

It depends on the makeup of the house. If you’re a freshman living in an all freshman house, I don’t think it will be a problem. I was a transfer living in a house that was mostly 2nd year students. Believe me, I tried to make friends with them  But half of the people were quiet and kept to themselves, or hung out with the friends that they made their first year.
