Ill be going to Community College this fall and i plan to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona. I was looking at their Transfer Admission Requirements, and its kinda unbelievable. I mean, this is all thats needed: college GPA of 2.0 or better, Be in good standing at the last college or university you attended, completed at least 30 semester units (45 quarter units) of general education with atleast a "C" (The 30 semester units must include English composition, oral communication, critical thinking and college-level mathematics), and Completed all 60 transferable semester college units. The only remotely scary part for me would be having to complete college math, because i HATE math and have failed it multiple times in High School, pathetic i know. Anyways, is that really all thats needed to be guaranteed transfer admission to Cal Poly Pomona from a Community College, as long as my major is not impacted? What if my major is impacted? Please help. Thanks!

Check the admission threads for CPP Transfers this year. Not so easy and relatively much higher GPA needed. 2.0 is the minimum to apply for transfer but you most likely will not get in with that GPA. The more impacted the major, the competitive the STATS.

@Gumbymom So if i meet the minimum requirements, they will only consider me for admission? Or will they guarantee my admission as long as my major is not impacted? Because as of this year, my major is not on their impacted majors list.

Check out this website for CSU transfers:

Look into the TAG (Transfer Admission Guarantee) programs (not sure if Cal Poly has one) or an AA Transfer programs

No you will not be guaranteed admission with those basic admission requirements. I’m pretty sure there’s actually no way to be “guaranteed” admission into any state schools, although you can use TAG for UCs. Cal Poly Pomona is a pretty easy state school to get into though.
