Is it really worth to do Industrial Engineering major?

I'm deciding between industrial engineering (IE) and chemical engineering, but after doing some research I really liked IE.

Although some people say its the easiest engineering and also it doesnt pay so much (i think it's very incorrect because the salary of mechanical engineering and industrial engineering are very similar according to bls.gov ), industrial engineerings are very important to companies.

What do you guys think? Is it really worth to have an IE major?

I am the kind of person who listens what people say, and when someone says IE is not a good major, then I don't want to do this thing anymore :.

Should I listen to this people or???

Anyway, I am really sorry for posting this simple problem, but I wanna hear your opinions...

up ^^

No one has answered it

If you enjoy IE, then just go for it. Don’t let someone else tell you not to do something you think you’d enjoy. If you find out it is not the right fit, then you can always switch majors since the majority of beginning engineering classes are all the same

from what i hear the IE job market is great relative to mechanical engineering …

Wow, great.

Thx for the responses ;).
