.I applied for College X,the school kinda likes me and its admission couselor sent me an email to ask how was my application for the merit scholarship going? ( I was planning to apply for College X’s merit award)… But then I got admitted in a higher-ranked school…I ( shamefully) forgot abt the email… When I was clearing my inbox I discovered the email…Should I reply her (after 1 month with no reply…) and should I tell her that I no longer wanna apply for that merit scholarship? Or should I just leave it. She sent it on January 31st… she probably hates me now :(…
She doesn’t hate you. She’s probably forgotten all about you.
If you’re sure you don’t want to follow up on her school, you could certainly drop her an email. Thank her for all her interest, tell her that you’ve chosen another school, and wish her your best.
Unless you want to keep that as a back up plan, it does not really matter to you.
Agreed, she is busy enough that you are not on her mind. You can email her to thank her for her time and let her know where you will be attending if you’d like, but if you don’t want to now that is fine too at this point.
