Is it rude to email a college checking on application status?

I applied EA to Willamette but they haven't sent me anything (confirmation). As far as I'm aware, all my things should be there. I was wondering if I should send the adcom an email? or should I just wait? Ughh please help me, I'm new to the whole thing.

Check their admissions website first, there may be info there on how long it takes before you hear anything. Also, many admissions departments have their own Facebook page and I can guarantee you other people would have posted the same question.
It takes them some time to get all the applicants into their database, and many schools create username/passwords so students can then login to check their application status. It takes awhile to do that.

Generally, colleges would rather you not email for confirmation or status. They get lots of emails anyways and sending one that’s unnecessary can seem annoying and clingy.

But, if you don’t see anything within two weeks, send a polite email asking if they got your application. If you applied through the Common App, if your status is “Downloaded”, then that means the school has received your application.
