Is it smart to write about academic stuff on essays?

Describe a setback that you have faced. How did you resolve it? How did the outcome affect you? If something similar happened in the future, how would you react?

Is it smart to write about an academic setback (ie: the adjustment from middle school to high schol.. and how hard it was and how one finally got through it)? I'm not sure if it's a good idea because I don't want the admission officers to think i'm a robot and only care about school and numbers, but is it an adviseable topic if it's the best thing I can think of? Is there anything wrong with it as long as I show how I overcame it and became a good student throughout the years and that I am fully capable of doing college-level courseload?

You want to try to provide information that your grades and coursework doesn’t provide. You want to provide information about you as an individual. If the essay does that, it is fine, but you might want to look for something that says something more about your unique experience.s

^ alright that’s the response i needed/expected, thanks
