Is it so wrong to want to spend the least and get the most?

School's about to start and I'm looking for a new laptop. I;ve been looking around at different websites looking for the best deal for my budget and have narrowed it down to...

HP - Pavilion Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor - dv4-1435dx

[url=<a href="http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9370012&st=VGN-CS320&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218092999297%5DSony">http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9370012&st=VGN-CS320&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1218092999297]Sony</a> - VAIO Laptop with Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology - Dove White - VGN-CS320J/W/url

These are really a bit too pricey for me but oh well...

Which one do y'all think is the better laptop? And if y'all have any suggestions on other laptops(that are cheaper than those) that y'all feel match up feel free to show me.

Thanks for the replies! :)
(well i hope y'all reply anyway...)

btw,
I’m not a gamer and I’m going to be a mechanical engineer major if that’s important.

New thin acer from Costco about $600

the hp comes with a remote for media center. i’ve been very satisfied with my dv3, and would personally go with the hp. vaios aren’t bad either. these are almost the exact same product, so you might as well go with your gut feeling on this one.

either way, spend a week watching this: http://gizmodo.com/tag/gadget-dealz-of-the-day/</a> and i guarantee you that there will be a better deal. on the 9th there was a deal for basically the same config, but $150-$200 less.

logicbuy.com

and don’t get hp, that’s a bad brand.

What college are you going to? I found out that my son’s college is an authorized factory warranty servicer for Apple and Dell. That made a difference to me (being able to get it fixed quickly).
