This is only the first marking period of my freshmen year in HS and I'm not doing so well. 88% average. I have 3 more marking periods and high school years to go. The grades are going to be cumulative so my grades would continue where they were left off. If I do really well for the remainder of the 3 marking periods and my sophomore, junior, and senior year, is it still possible for me to get into NYU?

Yes, but then you will need 2100+/31+ and some sound ECs.

Holy cow kid, relax. It’s freshman year. It’s not time yet to worry. By the way some colleges (UC’s, for example), don’t even look at Freshman year, while others just look at semester grades. CAlm down. Join some clubs/sports, start doing light prep for the PSAT next year (an hour a week or so), find something fun to do in your spare time. Don’t waste your time on Chance me for College websites, because they will give you almost nothing (besides scholarship opps… )

Relax. It’s only your freshman year. It’s really not the time to worry. As long as you keep up your grades, study for the SAT/ACT, and are active in community service/ extra curricular activities - you will be fine.

Good Luck!
