Is it still possible to enroll now? And other questions

Hi

I have been placed into an odd predicament. I was accepted into the Rutgers class of 2013 Fall into the pharmacy school, Arts and science, and engineering. Is it still possible for me to enroll now? I looked on the application portal and under application status it says "Admitted - Accept now" next to the pharmacy school.

My situation -
I realize it is August. I was accepted to RU with a presidential scholarship, but I turned it down for another institution, but my parents financial situation has drastically changed. I doubt I will still be able to retain the scholarship at this time, but the instate tuition I can deal with I suppose. Does anybody know if I can retain the scholarship if I, hypothetically, were to enroll now?

Other options -

I am now a high school graduate, if I were to take a gap year and reapply to schools during the upcoming year (applying as an incoming freshman), would it still be possible for me to qualify for merit scholarships?

Call the school to find out. The scholarship money might not be available anymore and maybe distributed to other students and not sure about your spot in the pharmacy school. Your best bet is to call them ASAP.

I can see your predicament, I think the best way is to call Rutgers on Monday, explain your situation as you described here, they might give you some leeway; but I have to tell you that Rutgers started freshman programs very early, APA day, placement tests, AP credits evaluation, orientation, bill payment, etc…. are either passed or being done; dorm assignment, class schedule and mentor assignment (professor) are giving this month soon. The earlier you take action, the better you would be. Good Luck!
