I have a GPA of 3.5714, and it's frustrating me!!!!
My school counselor told me it's not possible to achieve a 4.0 GPA, even if I get extra points added onto my classes if I get a 100 in them.
She said by the end of my senior year, if I worked my hardest and started getting straight As I could pull off with a 3.8.

Here are some extra facts about me:
-I'm a freshman at a magnet school
-I'm on the track team
-I volunteer
-I work (and get paid) at my family's restaurant
-My last ACT score (in 7th/8th grade) was a 22.

My grades/classes in my first semester:
Wellness: 99
Biology I Honors: 94
AP Human Geography: 89
Theatre Arts I: 93
English I Advanced Honors: 90
Geometry Honors: 94
French II Honors: 89 (I took French I in 8th grade)

Well, college admissions isn’t all about grades. There are about a million other students who have the exact same grades and ecs as you do. I would recommend to do something to stand out more, and pursue any passions/interests you might have.

Lots of other considerations, but if you are unhooked it will be difficult to get into Stanford with a 3.8. But then look on the bright side, it is difficult to get into Stanford with a 4.0 or with a 4.5 for that matter. Start looking around for other options just in case things at Standford do not work out. Ask yourself what are the five best things you like about Stanford and then look for schools with some of these common features.

If you’re still wondering, Stanford doesn’t really look into freshman grades, nor do many other schools.
