Is it substantially easier to get into Tufts with no financial need?

Will it be easier for me to get into Tufts if I can pay 100%/did not apply for financial aid? I know that Tufts is not need-blind but I was wondering if anyone knew how much that would help me. Ahh so scared for ED2 decisions

If you have access to funds that wouldn’t show up on FAFSA/PROFILE (or are close to affording it), it might help, but no one can say how much.

My understanding is that Tufts admits the students that it wants; Financial Aid then tells them when they have run out of money; the remainder of the students (usually about 2% of the class) are admitted from the pile of students who do not need aid.

My recollection is that approximately ten thousand Tufts applicants do not need financial aid.

Someone with better knowledge or numbers can chime in.

About 38% of the students at Tufts have demonstrated financial need. This suggests that a full pay applicant should have some advantage in the admissions process.

@publisher-I’d say a substantial advantage. I bet those with financial need elevate the average GPA substantially. It would be really interesting if schools published the GPAs of those with and without aid in their freshman class.
