Is it to late to change the path I'm on

Okay , I'm about to become a junior and I'm really unsettled about my college opportunity . Since Junior year is were you start deciding what schools you want to apply and go to , I'm currently in a predicament where I'd probably be stuck going to a school I don't want to go to (or a community college)

My school doesn't have much things that interest me nor I feel is worth while . So I haven't gotten into any school activities . I was on track during my sophomore year for like 3 weeks , but it probably doesn't even count as being in activity since I quit the team (I didn't enjoy it) . I wanted to try out for basketball but The coach already had his team together and only took two more girls , I didn't get on the team .

My first quarter (Soph, ore year) I failed Religion, AP world history, and Geometry . But over the year I took all my time and worked hard so that I could get my grades up and I ended the year with a 3.1 GPA. My freshman year I had a 3.5 Average and I never failed any classes.

Since I haven't done anything during school I have been into a lot of fashion so I blog and I actually make a some tops and pants and stuff on my sewing machine (maybe even sell them) . I draw in my free time (school doesn't have an art club) . And I'm currently working on getting a fashion line going . Idk if any or his stuff counts as EC on a college app but I want colleges to know I have skills and I don't waste my time doing nothing. I also am saving for a professional DSLR camera so i can. Start photography too . I know how to use Adobe Photoshop very well and I'm also starting to use Adobe Illustrator. I haven't done much volunteer work but I'm willing to do so if I'tll increase my chances of getting into a good school. I'm also In search of a job so I can work during the school year but if I don't get one I'll try getting to do an internship or something.

I haven't gotten a job neither of the summers . my going into sophmore i trained for basketball with a few friends and a trainer, but i can no longer contact him because he moved out of state, so that is worthless. and this summer now i didnt get a job either, because it seems like no one is hiring in NY (which is crazy since I live in a city). And to be honest it discourages me.

I would like to go to college and study business (entrepreneurship) , I was thinking maybe Syracuse , Boston University , Georgia tech , Georgia State, Indiana , la Salle , Louisville ,

All because I hear they have great business/entrepreneurship programs , I'll research them some more but I Know Georgia Tech and Syracuse are my two schools I'm really trying to go to .

Any help / advice / suggestions on my situation would be greatly appreciated , I certainly need some guidance so I can save myself , I really expect more of myself and I don't want a couple of bad years to ruin my future . Hopefully I haven't already
Thanks in Advance :D :)

It is not too late! Work really, really hard next year and in senior year, and you might have a chance. All of those schools might still be reaches with your stats, but I would apply anyway, and pay up the fashion design thing as an EC. And you could always attend a lower tier college and transfer in later.

Wondering why you aren’t considering a major in fashion design or fashion merchandising, since that seems to be your passion. There are some great schools in NYC for that, obviously. If you think those are too competitive, check out Marymount University in Arlington, VA, right outside DC. Their fashion programs are pretty well-respected, from what I hear. And they do have business majors, but not Entrepreneurship. It’s not very selective, so might be an appealing safety school for you. http://www.marymount.edu/academics/programs

Forgot to mention, lots of easy merit aid:

I don’t mean to offend, really I don’t, but it sounds like the path you are on is one of making excuses why you can’t be an engaged student.

Paint, I don’t think Georgia State would be a reach (GSU Panthers)

Oh, sorry, I thought I said some schools, not all schools.

No offense to the OP, but I kind of agree with keepingitlight.

A couple of bad years is the definition of high school

There is still time to change. Junior year is your last full year to turn yourself around and seriously bring up your GPA. If you put your head in the game, and give it your all, you should bring your GPA up considerably. Schools like BU have an avg GPA of 3.5 which isn’t too far out of your reach if you can bring yourself up.

I had an awful Sophomore year - I ended it with a 3.50 GPA and wanted to better myself my Junior year - so I loaded up on APs that interested me, I studied for tests, I sought extra help, I always did extra credit when available and I finished Junior year with a 3.73 which put me at a place that I felt comfortable with in terms of college admissions. It certainly isn’t impossible.

high school dosent really matter at all. Thats the only thing useful that I learned after my junior year
