Oil has dropped to the lowest in years. Layoffs have started in oil giants such as BP. Is Petroleum engineering a good major to get into in the near future? Will the classes of 2019+ still have the job opportunities?
Thanks
I know current oil prices might be a bit worrisome, but you need to realize how absurd it is to ask what the job market is going to be 4 years from now. Nobody knows and anybody that says they know is lying.
Are we still going to need oil in 4 years? Absolutely. 20 years? I’d bet on it. But forecasting a job market is akin to asking what the NASDAQ is going to be in 4 years.
