But Is it Ok to submit the commonapp online on,let's say Oct 20, and then send the additional information via Fedex on Oct28?

What if I do not receive the confirmation e-mail till Oct 28? Does this mean that the university cannot stalk my addtional Info. since they haven't recieved my application?

I am totally panicked right now, please give me some clear explanation!!

Submit the online application soon, at least a few days before the deadline, and just postmark the other parts by Oct 31 or Nov 1 - whatever the instructions say. The admissions office will then put all of your stuff together. Even if recs or things come in before the common app., admissions will hold it to put it together with the common app when they get it.

Your HS needs to send the additional information - transcript, GC recommendation letter. Some school will even put the whole packet together for you. My daughter's HS required everyone to let them know which school they are applying ED by Oct 5. I would speak to your GC as soon as possible to see if you have missed your school's deadline.

When my daughter applied to Cornell ED last year, her high school registrar (who sends out the GC recommendation and transcript) and the individual teachers whom she asked for recommendations all required her to submit the necessary paperwork to them a month before the college's deadline.

That meant that she had to turn in all that material pertaining to Cornell to the proper people at the high school by October 1. But she didn't have to submit the actual application until November 1.

You haven't missed Cornell's deadline, but you may have missed the deadlines at your high school for an ED application.

wow this thread helped me a lot - are you sure it only has to be POSTMARKED oct 31st? I just sent my application online today but I don't know if my teachers have got my recs in yet.
