Is it too late for a recommendation/letter of support?

If my colleges are releasing decisions this week is it too late?

Yes. It’s too late

Can I send it in if I get waitlisted or is that not something colleges want?

Wait and see what your options are.

Then please check back in and let the very knowledgeable parents here advise you. Please try to stay calm.

Take care.

Good luck!!

I think if you get on a wait list, you might be able to send it or have it sent along with sending an update and why I love your school letter. At some this might help and at others it won’t. Usually if written politely I don’t think it would hurt. But good luck!

Make sure the college will accept additional materials before you send anything. It varies by college, and not following instructions will not help your case.

Since I did not get any waitlists do you think I could get it sent in to try to get more money from a college?

@864346 You can try to get a better financial package. There are other posts here about this topic. You could also start a new thread asking for advice on this. If the school you want to attend is more expensive than another to which you were admitted, you can write to admissions and tell them you really want to go to their school but (some reason you need more money–explain some family situation or something) and this other school is offering such and such. You wonder if they can possibly give you more financial aid. If you do this, my understanding is that you would need to take a loan if you do this as schools want to feel that the student is going to help with this by working in the summer, maybe doing work study, and also taking a loan. You can give them a different EFC if you feel your official one was too high and you can ask them to meet your EFC if they are above it.

I think there are ways to word this that will be better than others and I am not certain of this but have seen other threads on this topic. It can’t hurt to ask. Good luck!

No. A letter of recommendation will have no bearing on your financial aid or merit scholarship.
