Is it too late for an internship?

I am currently a 3rd year biology student but with a 2.72 GPA. I wanted to get into undergraduate research last year but I overloaded for a year, causing my GPA to drop and no time to apply. I thought I had to retake a course this summer but after consulting with my academic advisor, I learned that I did not. Now I am looking for internship opportunities but it seems that most deadlines are in early february and March. I do not have any references though I have visited my organic chemistry professor for a few times during office hours for class material inquiries and have received a grade of a B for that course, and a biology professor who I have once had a work-study lab assistant position under. Is my internship search hopeless or are there still options?

What kind of school are you in? Is it in a big city with lots of internship options? Is your hometown a city with lots of options? Have you been to your college career office for help with getting a resume together and writing a cover letter? Lastly, why do you want to do undergraduate research in bio? Your gpa suggests that your school is too hard or you don’t love your chosen major or something else.
