Is it too late for this???

My son has received replies from all schools he applied to. He was denied from two of his reach schools and wait listed for another two. He was accepted to all of targets and safeties. Received academic scholarships to all schools he was accepted to.

In the last week, he has received a certificate of Excellence from The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. Granted by the program on behalf of President Barack Obama, He is being recognized with the organization’s highest honor – the President’s Volunteer Service Award. And in yesterdays’ Newspaper, he was pictured and quoted about a fundraiser he helped organize that raised almost $20K for charities. Is it worthwhile sending any of this to the schools he already has an offer in hand from? Or the schools he was wait listed for? Do you think it will do anything?

I won’t bother with the schools he was rejected from.

It sounds like a big honor and it couldn’t hurt to send it as an update. Although I wouldn’t expect it to do too much at most schools since it is so late.

Updates always help with waitlists as long as its new info.

But the PVSA isn’t uncommon - the lowest level only requires 100 hours of community service in HS.

If your S send a letter of continued interest to the waitlist schools he can include this information.

Yes, it could definitely help. I would absolutely send this new information to them. Congratulations to your son. That is excellent!!

I’d send it to the waitlist schools and reiterate his interest.
