Before coming to Vanderbilt, I was intent on rushing a fraternity. After I saw the process, where guys were expected to go during the middle of the week to recruitment events and other rush events, I became very lazy and didn't go often. Now, it's almost thanksgiving and we're nearing the end of the rush process. I've been back and forth about wanting to join, but now I really want to.

If I've barely been going to rush events, is it too late to start now? Do frats only take freshman who have been going to events since September? or if a freshman shows interest this late is it possible for him to still get a bid come january?

Thanks

Some fraternities will still be willing to accept new rushes.

The best way to get on a rush list at this point is tag along with a good friend who is rushing. Once fraternities start locking down rushes, they let their favored rushes bring around friends that they think would be a good fit.

You’ll need to attend as many rush events as possible to have a shot.

vanderbilt is easily the best mid sized university and one of the best over all schools hands down.the main turn off is the super heavy greek presence.

but , why not try being yourself and not join a frat.

For many people, “being yourself” DOES mean joining a fraternity. I think the Greek presence is one of this school’s greatest assets.
