My son has some health issues and we are not sure if he should go back next semester to school which is almost 700 miles away. The health issues became worse after the Nov transfer deadlines have passed. Do you know if there any exceptions and if transfer for spring 2019 semester can still happen. We would need to scramble to put together a transfer request (no referral letters, essays, etc available) and college would need to give a very quick decision by early January, so this does not appear to me to be feasible. But thought it is worth asking. My son just finished his freshman first semester and did very well earning As in most subjects. But the health situation would be easier managed if he was at home/closer.
You need to call the new college. If it is an less selective school they may make an exception with medical documentation but it is really late.
There is nothing wrong with taking a medical leave for a semester while he applies for summer or fall admission. Talk that option over with him too.
