Is it too late to update colleges?

Hi,

Today I found out that I had won a pretty significant award from a certain competition. However, I received the same title last year. Should I still update colleges on this?

Pros: Since this competition is pretty important to my college essays and what I want to major in, and it is a big time investment each year, it would be good to let colleges know that I am continuing to pursue this activity in senior year. Also, I could use this opportunity to slip in some minor updates that wouldn’t warrant their own emails.

Cons: I did not technically “improve” my standing, even though I invested a lot of time and energy into it. Also, it might be too late for schools like Stanford, which may come out on the 25th. However, I also applied to several Ivies, so I don’t know…

Feedback is super super welcomed! If I am going to update the colleges, I will have to do it soon.

no, its too late for all of them. Besides it does not change your standing.

It can’t hurt, so you might as well.

It cannot hurt…and it seems important enough to update them on.

thanks for your input!

Don’t know if it’s too late but there’s 0 harm in telling them now.

What can it hurt? I would tell any schools you haven’t heard from via email today. And also let any school where you have accepted a spot on the waitlist.
