Is this true?

Colleges will not see an AP score until you authorize it to be sent.

can you authroize them to see it when ur applying or after youre accepted

You don’t have your scores sent until after you have decided to enroll in a particular school. The only way schools know your test scores before that is if you put them on your application.

You may want to check your high school transcript. DD’s had her SATs and her APs posted on her transcript, along with her rank.

The main reason to send an AP score to a school is to see if that school will accept the score and allocate earned credits once you are accepted and enrolled. Theoretically if you got took 10 AP courses and got all 5’s, a college could start you off with 30 credits before you ever took a college course at that school.

Each college establishes what AP’s and what score levels they will accept as incoming credits. In most cases, these lists are accessible somewhere in their website, or through the undergrad bulletin or student handbook.

It’s also possible that an AP score will eliminate the need to take an introductory level course. This is also school specific.

Each release of AP scores to schools that you request will also cost you $. The charges are found on the AP website.

You can send your scores any time after you have received them. If you have taken many AP classes and received hi [5] scores on the tests, I would recommend you send them when you are applying to college, as it shows the admissions office that you are a strong, capable student.
