Is it true that if you take the SATs three times...?

Hey,

Is it true that if you take the SATs three times, collegeboard.com will only send your averaged score out of all three tests to colleges instead of sending the third test score? For instance....

Let's say the first time I took it, I got a 1050
Second time I took it, I got a 1250
Third time I took it, I got a 1500

So will they send the 1500 or will they send the average out of three scores, which is a 1266?
If it's the latter, then that really sucks.

no, that is an ABSOLUTE myth.

They will send all the scores you have taken up to now - and the dates that you took them. Most colleges look at the highest scores only, some look at the highest from a single sitting (UCs) and some will look at them all. You'll be seen as having the 1500.

but some will take highest set...they usu reveal what they use at their info sessions...so tell us....what did you do to improve your scores to 1500!

i think this is hypothetical

but congratulations if you improved that much!

Colleges will take the highest score you've recieved as long as you haven't gone down (makes sense, b/c as you spend more time in school, you get smarter - hopefully). Otherwise, I don't know what they do. Hope that helps a little.
BtW, I think classyprincess was just being hypothetical...

3x is perfectly okay. 4 is kind of pushing it -- that is the point where I have heard rumors that SAT scores are "averaged," but I don't think they're true. Stick w/ 3x unless you can seriously improve the 4th time.

uhh...first time on the old SAT I got a 610 math....second time on the NEW SAT I got a 590 MATH... so if i take it third time and score 700+ it will be oK?

yes i was being hypothetical....1500 on my SATs??? YEAH RIGHT i wish! LOL
