Is it true that it's easier to transfer to a major internally?

I applied for Mechanical and Civil Engineering and got placed in undeclared. Is it easier to internally transfer into engineering than to get accepted directly into the school? And would it still be possible to take engineering courses while in UGS such as ME 302 and ME 205?

I’m not sure how it is for ME but out-of-major students can enroll in the intro EE courses. If no one answers your question here, I’d recommend calling the Mechanical Engineering Advising office. They should be able to tell you right away.
