is it true that most north east schools accept very little southern students? why is that?

if your qualified your qualified. most accept alot of NE b/c lots of NE apply. simple percentages. dont worry about things you cant control

If you're applying from the South, they'll definitely accept you if you are under 4 feet tall.

I'm a 6'1'' Wharton hopeful from Arizona. What are my chances?!?!?!?

dunno what i can tell you gelco.

shrink 2 feet?

Do you have a sick jump shot?

I don't know about geographic preferences, but high caliber northeastern schools typically like students who use correct grammar.

e.i. "very FEW southern students"

blackorwhite in #7: The irony of you using "e.i." makes your post a strong contender for this week's award for punctured internet-based sanctimony. Thanks for the laugh.

^^hahaha owned blackorwhite.

black or white

also when comparing more than 2 use less instead of fewer

it is less southern students....

If anything, they accept a greater PERCENTAGE of southern students b/c of geographical diversity...colleges don't like (rightfully or not) to have most of the class be from the Northeast.

Well, as someone said, qualified students apply. It's also important to have heard of the school, and many people haven't. Most of the matriculants come from PA, MD, around there because there's an overwhelming amount of applicants from there and more people know if it. I don't have solid proof, but why else would they be so numerous? Anon is probably right about the greater percentage of southern/western students (save cali).
