is it true that some dorms at uf are not air-conditioned?

<p>We had heard that some of the dorms are not air-conditioned, Is this true?</p>

<p>Yeah, it's true. I can't remember which ones, but it should tell you on the UF Housing site.</p>

<p>This was par for the course 30 years ago when my parents went to school at UF.</p>

<p>Yes, the two dorms without AC are Buckman and Thomas.</p>

<p>I have personally lived in one of these dorms during a hot semester and can tell you that you just need to BRING an external AC unit and you will be FINE. You ARE allowed to do it and it is even encouraged. The price difference to live in these dorms more than makes up for the extra cost of the unit. Also, their location is easily the best on campus.</p>

<p>oh and window units are not allowed.. you need the ones that stand alone and your put the hose thing in the window.</p>

<p>They started allowing AC's in Fall '07. Even before that they were popular among upperclassmen due to cost and location.</p>
