Is it true that you aren’t allowed to CLEP if you already have a certain amount of credits?

I was told this by a graduated student.

Ask the college directly.

Depends on the college. Some have no limit to the number of transfer credits they accept and others do not accept any at all.

And then there are some that require students who hope to take a CLEP exam to not have earned more than xxx credits so far. I have also heard of one college that does not grant any CLEP credits once the student has earned 30 credits. Another college won’t let students take CLEP exams if they are in the last semester/last year of college. So many rules, so you must pay attention to what YOUR college/university has listed as its CLEP policy.
