Is it true that you get a button when they make the decision?

I heard that the school makes the decision for the people who are obviously getting in or obviously not first, which means that if you get a button early, you’re either in or not.

If it is true that they give you the button when they make the decision, that proves the point that if the button’s there early, you’re either on the top tier or the bottom. right?

I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing… hummm

this whole thing is freaking me out for sure~

GOOD LUCK ALL EDers!!! :)

what really? is that true...b/c i got the button on the 29th.....

who told u this info?

I got my button before Brown received my SAT2 scores. I self-reported but unless they made a decision without seeing the official College Board report, the button=decision theory doesn't make much sense.

i have lots of buttons!

brumaire: unless they had enough info to reject you without them, but that's unlikely

all hail the mighty button !

lol, I bet Brown just put it there to mess with our minds.

Oh, and by the way, I doubt it means anything, because before the November SAT ii test, I didn't take enough of the required tests, but I said I would, and so when I called, they said they wouldn't evaluate my app until they get those scores. I got the button before they got my scores.

they dont make decisions for ppl who are obviously in or not in first. they make them in bunches based on schools and geographic location.

^ exactly! thanks for clarifying, jenz. I know this for a fact b/c I'm aware of at least 6 people (including myself and a few others from CC, too) who all got a button on the same day, and are all from NJ.

The button takes you to a letter that says decision results haven't been made yet. I had a heart attack the first time I saw it...
