<p>i think it depends on the school. although once you're deferred i dont think you have such a good shot. if they wanted you they would have taken you in RD. this may not be the caase for schools like MIT or something that only take a small portion of their class early, but i know for columbia, among those who are deferred, only 4-5% are accepted RD, which is lower than the actual RD acceptance rate of course</p>
<p>Agreed. Less than 10% of deferred kids are accepted. If they wanted you, they'd just take you early.</p>
<p>Yup, majority of early applicants are deferred to the regular round. For most schools, it's between 50-70% deferral. And then it's usually harder to get in regular round .</p>
