Is it true there is a committee that can change your LG to P/NP?

Well... I heard a friend said that you can petition for a grade change after the semester over (LG --> P/NP). I didn't do so stellar in a course last semester (literally not that great; I ended up with a C in one class and a NP in another; the C course is a prereq class and the NP class has nothing to do with my major). I screwed up first semester pretty much so I would really want to know if this is a possible solution because that C is really haunting me (I'm already planning to take the NP class again next semester so if I do petition, it'll just be for the class that I got a C in)...

So far, I'm doing quite well in all my courses this semester. I might be able to pull off all A-/A with maybe 1 A+ this semester (Econ1, ESPM course, Math 16B).

Do you think I would have a valid excuse if family issues were involved from last semester?

Thanks a bunch!

i don’t think so, but if you do find it, let us know…

Bleh no got an answer :(?

If such a committee did exist, they’d probably say no to your situation.

How important are grades for the field that you are pursuing?
