Is it unrealistic?

Is it unrealistic to think that if I enroll at Babson or Olin, I can still be accepted within the women's college community? As a feminist, a queer person, and a social activist, I think socially, I fit in great at Wellesley. Just so happens I can't attend because of financial reasons!

You’ll definitely be accepted; if you join Wellesley clubs and classes, people will probably assume you’re a Wellesley student anyway.

However, I think this is the more important question: Do you actually like Babson and Olin, or are you considering them because of their proximity to Wellesley? I would strongly recommend against going to a certain school just because it’s close to another school. What are your other college options? What are your academic areas of interest?

Oh, not at all! I am looking to major in engineering, which Wellesley doesn’t offer anyway. I think I have a great shot at Olin, plus they pay half tuition. My parents have suggested that I look into business (this is where Babson comes into play), but I am straying away from that. Thank you for your input. :)

Smith has some sort of engineering program you might want to examine.

The only women’s college to have one.
