Is it weird to ask my professor if he could change the syllabus grading system for me?

OK, I am taking the a math course that I was to transfer to another university. The criteria for the school to accept this math class says that the exams must account for more than 50% of the course. For the class that I’m taking the exams account for only 40%. Can I ask the professor to make my exams be worth more? Or is there any thing else I could do?

I could see him having a problem if you asked him to make your exams worth less, but not if you ask for them to be worth more. What is the other 60% of your grade? Homework, quizzes? His answer might depend on that. But I would say it’s worth a shot.
