i have never been to a HS dance in my life. i'm a senior and each day there was a dance i was either chilling or at my house playing video games.

I have never been to a high school dance either:) No worries, at my old school they weren’t even proper. It was more like a bunch of students standing in a large gym with hardly any adults, free to do what they pleased. (interpret that in whatever way you feel compelled to) They honestly aren’t worth my time.

Video games are obviously more important. :D

yes. it most certainly is.

Not as weird as you might think. I mean, sometimes I don’t go because I’ll get bored, and I feel weird because everyone talks about how excited they are for it. But, when I ask people if they’re going, some of them say no. So, it’s more common than I thought it would be.

hey man. I never went to a single dance in HS either. I would much rather have chilled at home playing video games…which I did.
trust me, you make up for it in college though. :P

ive been to a few. just got back from one. Officially not going to another one unless its a. at a bigger school b. we can invite people c. i have a date.

its just so boring…

It is normal to not go…but to spend your time playing video games?..

^video games with friends on xbox live, watching movies on my computer, chilling with friends from other schools etc etc.

I don’t think so. I’ve gone to about half of my school’s dances, they’re pretty boring though so we usually meet there and go out somewhere else.

I’ve never been to a high school dance.

I never intend on going to a high school dance.

Not weird at all

At my school the (formal) dances are pretty popular. Homecoming, the semi-formals, and junior and senior prom are definitely ones you’d want to attend. The Halloween dance is fun if you bring a costume and go out later, in that costume. Most other dances, it’s just a place to go to meet your friends’ friends and make impromptu plans to go out.

where i go, its somewhat common not to go. i mean i dont think even half the student body went to homecoming this year (but i go to a HUGE school so it still seemed packed). I usually go and i think theyre fun but i can see how someone would think they arent. i dont know about where you go, but where i go about half the songs are in spanish and people…do “things.”

My school doesn’t have dances. The only one we have is Prom. We used to have them years before I started high school (I’m a senior now, so it was a long time ago), but not many people attended them and not many teachers wanted to chaperone.

Actually, I consider it smart. At least at my school, dances are stupid and boring.

^Agreed:) .

I agree - I’m not too big on school dances either. Plus, any event at my school has to be highly supervised (and soo rigid/organized) and to go this tedious and elaborate process just to have it approved. No one really bothers to put in so much effort into something that would become an eventual disaster

I don’t even intend on going to prom, but I promised someone way back I would go w/ them. It was out of sympathy, so just I could make them happy and feel a little more optimistic about their situation

I dont go to any school functions like homecoming. I just dont care.

^Lol, nice, me neither:)
^^Aww, you should go with him/her then. I don’t plan to go to prom though…I don’t even like to dress up. I’m more comfortable in sweats and jeans:)
