I want to ask my AP Chem teacher (junior yr) and my chem 1/organic chem teacher(sophomore-junior) for my rec letters. But is it a good idea to ask for a letter from teachers of the same subject?

My organic/chem 1 teacher and I get along pretty well. We often make fun of each other, and he is aware of my other non-academic talents— especially art. I ranked #1 out of his Chem 1 classes last yr, and I'm ranked #1 again in organic this yr.

My AP Chem teacher knows me well. He doesn't do class ranks, but I have a 99.95 so I'm probably at the top of his classes. He sponsors my club and I participate in Chem O. (he coaches that). He said he never had a student work so hard for Chem O since 1999. He also is aware of my strong motivation and ambition in chemistry. However, he is not the greatest writer.

I don't really have any other teachers to ask for a rec letter. I'm usually a quiet person, except in chem, which is my element (no pun intended ;P). I'm a good/average student in all classes except science classes which I excel in, nothing really stands out about me. Can't really ask my bio or anatomy teacher, that was freshman and sophomore year.

The only teacher worth mentioning is my math teacher. He acknowledged my improvement in math (had him two years). I went from a 90% average to a 99%. But he barely knows me and I never talk to him.

Ask for letters from both Chem teachers, or one chem and one math?
