To do 13 units my 1st semester and then 17 units the 2nd? What do you guys think???

seems very reasonable and wise...

I would say 13 units is a bit lax. :P 17 units is very doable though.

Depends.

Is it 13 units of engineering and physics or 13 units of p/np? What kind of classes will you take? Its a delicate balancing act, so name the classes you plan to take both semesters for a better response my brother.

I have 14 units planned so far as an engineering major. Would adding another 3 unit course be too risky for an average Cal student?

Fall schedule (includes 2 lower division courses I have to make up as an incoming transfer student):

E77 (Matlab)
E45 (Materials)
ME104 (Dynamics)
EE100 (EE for none EECS majors)

E77 and EE100 should be easy. I don't know much about E45 or ME104, but assuming they're average, it should be no problem to add a 3 unit course on top of those.

Well I'm a sociology/film major. But I didnt get any of the major prereq courses. So I'm taking....

French 1
Intro to Ancient Egypt
Fresh Seminar
Reflections of gender, culture in american dance

What do you think??

nico, E45 and ME104 are tough classes. Pretty challenging mat'l and competitive. Add a fluff class or a P/NP class, not a tough class.

brit, looks easy enough for you.

wait, so if you only take 13 units first semester and 15 units for second semester, by the following year you are still a freshman instead of being designated a sophomore?
