<p>Hello! I’m a student from Michigan (Indian, female, intending to go into pre-med track).
Reading about some of the students posting here has gotten me nervous - I want to apply but will it just be a waste?</p>

I also have 5 years of Spanish classes. </p>

<p>Class Rank: 17/483 (Top 3.5%)</p>

<p>ACT Score: 33
SAT: Not sending SAT scores and didn’t take SAT II’s</p>

<p>Extracurricular:
• President of World Focus (Rotary Interact Club) (One of the first members of this charity organization. Been a member all four years. Our main project for the past few years is helping rebuild the village of Bawock, Cameroon in Africa. Most of my time has gone into this club and our members are very dedicated.)
• President of National Honors Society (Has about 130 students)
• Member of Environmental Club (all four years)
• Member of Spanish Club (all four years)
• Success Strategies Tutor (all four years)
• I have also been, for some of my years, been involved with Philosophy club, Anime/Asian pop club, Gay/Straight Alliance and Early Literacy Volunteers (Tutoring)
• Played on a U-17+ Soccer House Team for the last four years</p>

<p>Volunteering:
I have over 300 volunteer hours, of which I’ve spent working with our Rotary Interact Group and the National Honors Society. I tried to list all the specific activities in my resume I attached to my common app.</p>

<p>Honors/Awards:
• Honor Roll
• AP Scholar with Distinction
• President’s Volunteer Service Award
• PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifier
• A few awards in the PTSA Reflections program (in Visual Arts)
• Churchill High School Super Charger Award (awarded to one student per class every month for academic and service recognition) </p>

<p>Other Activities:
• Attended the National Student Leadership Conference on Health Care and Medicine
• Had a short Internship at Oakwood Hospital (shadowing a doctor)</p>

<p>Recommendations: They’re well written and from teachers that like me. My counselor’s letter stated that she thought I was the most committed volunteer she’s seen in her career. </p>

<p>Essays: They’re alright. For my common app essay, I explain my interest of biology through experiences I’ve had in my independent study anatomy class. </p>

<p>I want to say “don’t apply” because I want less competition, but you stand a good shot of getting in; I would apply.</p>

<p>You’re stats and ECs are pretty close to mine so I would definitely apply, it’d be a waste not to. I’m applying ED though.</p>
