Is it worth appealing UCSD?

<p>Well i talked to admission officers at UCSD and they informed me that i was just one hundred pts away from being admitted into UCSD. They also said i had a low GPA which was quite lower than my UC GPA. I looked into it and i made a mistake submitting my grades. I accidently put two C's instead of two A's. I did some calculations and i believe the change will take me over the pts needed to be admitted.</p>

<p>First of all would they change my grade and re-evaulate my application if i be extremely sincere about it?</p>

<p>Second of all, Has anyone ever appealed to a similar situation as mine and got in?</p>

<p>Definitely do it! Cs versus As are a big deal. Offer to have your school send your official transcript, and ask them to review it instead of the self-entered mistake.</p>

<p>is it possible to send the official transcript with my appeal letter? I work in the office and im the one who makes the Official transcrips actually official... heh. I talked to the admission officers and they dont seem very nice about me making the mistake. I'm getting unconfident... AND it is my dream school.</p>

<p>If it is your dream school, make the appeal. It is new information that is correct, and that's exactly what an appeal is for.</p>

<p>They may not be too happy, but that's because it's extra work for them. If you still stand strong, there's a chance you might still be admitted.</p>

<p>The worst that can happen is that they refuse to honor your appeal.</p>

<p>Of course, appeal. Everyone makes mistakes. I checked and checked and checked my UC application form. I still made mistakes.</p>

<p>If your GC at school has handled appeals before, talk with her about what has been successful. Definitely give UCSD your correct grades, including an official, sealed transcript. And if you have a teacher willing to write a new recommendation letter, or someone connected to an EC or a job that could yield UC points, by all means, send it along. (You might want to have a sealed copy of the letter with a signature across the back to demonstrate no tampering included in your big appeals packet, just to be sure that UCSD gets everything all at once.) UC's have an appeal process for a reason; people do win appeals. You have concrete new info that puts you over the number of points needed for admission. By all means, give it a try! Good luck!</p>
