Is it worth applying SCEA?

<p>Hey, Stanford is my #1 choice for college, and I realize that for many, including myself, it is a tough reach school. Is it worth it to apply SCEA, though? I know that no matter what it's going to be an incredibly tough reach for me, and I'm just wondering if I should even bother with SCEA.</p>

Class Rank: 1 out of 125
Residency: Out of State (Massachusetts)
GPA: 4.5 W, pretty sure it's a 4.0 UW
SAT: 2080 (730 V, 630 M, 720 W)
ACT: 33 (35 R, 34 M, 33 W, 31 S)
AP's: US History (4), taking AP English Lit, AP US Gov, and AP Spanish now</p>

<p>(Even though they'll see my SAT I's when I send my SAT II's, I'm hoping that my ACT scores will outweigh the SAT I's. I'm taking Math II, Bio, and Literature SAT II's in October)</p>

<p>I've also been the Drum Major of my school's marching band for 4 years, and our band has won numerous titles, including State Champs in our division. I've also won outstanding drum major awards, both regionally in Massachusetts and at a national competition in Virginia. </p>

<p>I've been the class president for 4 years (well 5 counting 8th grade :P), I'm the Vice President of our school's chapter of the National Honor Society, and I'm involved extensively with the music program at the school, playing the bass guitar in both Jazz and Pep band and playing percussion/piano in the concert band.</p>

<p>Any comments and suggestions would be great appreciated!</p>

<p>To be honest, Stanford seems like a high reach for you. But then again, it's that way for..many people. Your test scores are a tad bit below comfort zone, though.</p>

<p>If it truly is your #1 choice, I say go for it. Might as well, right?</p>

<p>They are... those ACTs are near the upper range. That comment was in my opinion, fairly inaccurate</p>

<p>Isn't 33 ACT around/slightly below 2200 SAT? I usually refer 2250+ as the "comfort zone," hence a tad bit below it. You even said it yourself - "those ACTs are NEAR the upper range." So yeah, my comment was fairly accurate. Thank you!</p>

<p>Sure if you want to go to Stanford. Just make sure you do the arts supplement though.</p>
