I'm looking for an academic safety (already got financial safeties, aka UCI) and I really like the Phoenix/Tempe area. I don't really care about prestige and rankings, and I love the area around ASU, but..when it comes to job opportunities post-graduation, would it be worth it to apply to their business programs (I'm really interested in Supply Chain Management and ASU is ranked top 5 in the country)..any thoughts?

p.s. I'm from Southern Cal and know a bunch of people that went to schools in Arizona, so am aware of the party scene and whatnot...

The undergraduate business school at ASU is definitely good and getting even stronger each year as President Crow continues to raise academic standards and foster more partnerships with the private sector. The down side to ASU, of course, is that it is a huge school.

But if you can get into Barrett Honors College, then you absolutely should consider adding ASU to your list, because the honors program creates that “small school experience” within the big school. BHC is fantastic and its students get lots of perks.

ASU has one of the best program in Supply Chain Management. Many major corporations recruit there every year for permanent hires and summer interns. Phoenix also presents many internship opportunities. I say go for it.

@CrownOfTheSea – The huge apparel company where I work is BIGGGGGG into supply-chain management. It’s pretty much the CEO’s top priority. If you decide to go to ASU to specialize in this area, PM me and I’ll tell you more about this Fortune 500 company. (I myself am in the right-brain creative area and don’t have a clue, but I can possibly find out about internships for you, if you’re interested.)

It’s cool that you already have such a strongly focused idea of what you want to do!
