I have considered applying to MIT now, which is pretty late so I can no longer schedule an interview. Is there any point in applying now, since the admissions rate is even lower for those who don’t interview? Thanks.
Tricky question. I think the acceptance rate for people without an interview is like 1%. So if you don’t think you have a really good shot, then maybe it’s not worth it; the MIT app is a lot of work.
It is true that the acceptance rate for those who don’t interview is much lower, but if you really love MIT I would encourage you to try. You may be surprised, like I was Good luck!
“In fact, last year, of eligible applicants, we admitted 10.8% of those who had an interview (or who had their interview waived) but only 1% of those who chose not to interview.”
