My stats are very low for Tulane: 3.0 and 1230 SAT. However my essay and rec letters are very strong. I will be applying as undecided and my 2nd choice major will be computer science. Since the application is free, is it worth applying? Do I have any chances?
Since the application is free, it’s worth applying. I couldn’t find a GPA on the website, but the middle 50% SAT range for the Class of 2022 was 1420-1510.
You have close to 0 chance. I’m my opinion it’s not worth applying.
Tulane doesn’t even have computer science as a primary major, only as a “coordinate major” with another discipline. And good recs/ec’s aren’t likely to get you in with stats that are in Tulane’s bottom quartile. You could probably get into Loyola New Orleans, though, which is literally right next door. http://cas.loyno.edu/mathematics/bachelor-science-computer-science Question would be whether it would be affordable for you, as the financial aid isn’t particularly generous.
