Hello, I was just wondering if there is any value in me mentioning in my app that I’ve been featured in my city’s local newspaper multiple times (not a huge city but pretty medium size). I have been interviewed and had stories done about me for my efforts in spreading political awareness amongst kids my age, both at my school and around town. Do you all think that this would this be something worthwhile to mention in my app or would I be better off not including it?
This is the part that’s interesting, not the part that you were part of a newspaper story, IMO.
If I’m basing my common app essay on politics and my main EC is founding a political group, would it be going overboard mentioning the newspaper recognition (for the EC) or would it help my case? I don’t want to come across as I only do one thing but it is also my main EC and my selling point so I do want to highlight it
Personally, I’m not sure it will help, and could come off going overboard.
