Is it worth it going to University of Washington?

I've been admitted to Purdue and UW. I applied to bioengineering for both however I got pre-engineering for UW. I heard that it is really hard to get into the bioengineering department at UW. What GPA should I get? What will happen to me if I don't get the GPA required? Should I just go to Purdue?

:(( Can anyone give me some advice?

How far are you from UW? how much more does it cost? If you are really set that you’ll be an engineer and you think you can handle the pressure, UW would be a great choice. But if it costs a lot more money and a lot of time in flights for a major that you might not get into, it may not be worth your time. I’m undergoing the same decision with UW CSE and I’m probably choosing a different school because it’s closer and I’ve been admitted to my major.

Omg thanks for posting! @Humanity23
I’m an international student, so it doesn’t really matter where the university is. Money-wise I don’t think it will matter that much. I heard it’s really hard to get into the bioengineering department. What happens if I just don’t get in…? I am just so worried.

Both Washington and Purdue have competitive admissions processes to get into the bioengineering major. You probably want to ask on forums relating to each as to how difficult it is at each school. In either case, if your GPA is not high enough for admission to your desired major, you must choose a different major or transfer to another school.

@ucbalumnus thanks a lot for the advice! I really appreciate it.
