Is it worth it to enroll as "waitlisted"?

aaaalright now. Here's the problem: the only 31B Prof left now is Grossman, who seems to be highly unpopular on uclaprofessors.com.

What are the chances that I'll get into another professors class of 180 ppl if 2 or 7 people are already waitlisted?

jeez. if session 106 is this difficult to arrange classes in, then what are the rest of the 5 sessions to be like?
i appreciate all the help

Most professors will let those on the waitlist in. Depends on how many people show up to the first class and how tough the professor is. Also, you may be able to appeal to them buy emailing/going to office hours and explaining that you REALLY need to be in their class because of scheduling, or something. It's much easier to get in off the waitlist than if you just show up and try to get a PTE, and even then I've seen lots of professors be very generous.

I'd sign up for the waitlist as soon as possible, since the higher you are the better chance you have.

Chances are that in the next two months or so, people will drop.. so there's a good chance that you'll be in the class by the time classes actually start. I signed up on a waitlist for a chem class for this fall and within a few weeks, I was in the class...

Good luck!

Yeah, that's happened for me too.

Since the engineering school doesn't give 31B credit for a 5 on BC Calc, is Grossman hard for 31B if you've already learned the material? I know I've definitely mastered the topics, but is it possible to make an A? The people on bruinwalk.com said that his curves sucked...
