Hello, I’m currently a junior interested in taking a community college class over summer. I want to take this class because I need an art class to apply to the UCs and my other option would be to take IB Art History SL during the year which I’d rather not do because I heard the class (or at least the AP version, the IB version is new) is a lot of work and I already have a lot of work, what with being a full IB diploma candidate and all. I would take IB Computer Science SL instead of Art History during the school year if I take the CC class this summer. I’ve been wanting to do this, and I already applied, but now I’m starting to think that it might be too much of a hassle. The class is 2 hours a week, four days a week, and I have to do a bunch of stuff just to be allowed to take the class, such as taking a 2 hour assessment test and stuff. Plus, the class is 3 credits, and I don’t even know if that qualifies for VAPA credit. I’d much rather take computer science during the year than art history, but what do you all suggest I do?
http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/requirements/a-g-requirements/ indicates that a transferable college course of 3 semester credit units or 4 quarter credit units can fulfill the visual and performing arts requirement.
