So I want to find a job in medicine and am currently a high school sophmore. I was wondering whether it was really worth it to take AP History classes considering I want to go into medicine. If there are any threads that have already discussed this please link them for me. I’m new here and I do not really know my way around the website. Thanks!
@Sboy36,
Before you can apply to medical school, you will have to sit for the MCAT. One section is titled Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills. A class like AP History will contribute to the skills you need to do well on that section. My advice is to take as many AP classes as your school offers and you can reasonably fit into your schedule. Best of luck.
@plumazul
ok thanks!
How about if you want to go in engineering? Do you need to AP History even then?
For engineering, you should focus on taking as many STEM APs as you can (Calculus BC - or at least AB, Chemistry, Physics C, and CS), and then add AP History if you can handle the workload.
If you can use the AP credit in college, you may never have to take a history class again. Like me. Thank god.
