Is it worth it?

My friend is really skeptical whether or not she should apply to Harvard. She is #1 in her class, has many leadership positions in numerous clubs (SGA, Model UN, etc.,), plays sports (co-captain of her softball and lacrosse team), does a lot of volunteering, and she's African American. When she first took her SATs, she got a 1710. I don't remember her score break-down. The second time around, she got a 1920.

She plans on taking the SATs in January and is expecting around 2020-2100.

Does Harvard even accept January SAT scores? She recently submitted her apps and hasn't even had her interview yet. Do you think it's worth it for her to apply?

I personally think she's good enough and should go for it, but she's very doubtful. She thinks that her initial low score on the SAT will have a negative affect on her application. Is she right?

It sounds like she already applied. I think it’s worth it to apply. She’s #1, African American, and has a decent enough SAT score so she has a good chance.

Well, she submitted the 1st part of her application (The Common App). She hasn’t sent out the other required materials, but yeah.
